Former Kangaroos coach Dean Laidley confirmed last night on Fox Sports program AFL 360 that North Melbourne ruckman Hamish McIntosh will be traded at the end of the season.

When asked whether McIntosh would be dealt at the end of the year? Laidley said:

“They will sell Hamish… absolutely.”

“Brad Scott’s doing very good job of telling everyone he’s a required player.”

With the development of up and coming ruckman Todd Goldstein, the emergence of Cameron Pedersen and the increased trust in Aaron Edwards, McIntosh is surplus to requirements at the Kangaroos in 2012.

Laidley later expressed concern about McIntosh’s recent injury troubles (following surgery to repair both achilles tendons), issuing a warning to potential suitors; ‘buyer beware.’

Richmond is thought to be the logical destination, due to their depleted ruck stocks, but McIntosh’s ability to play as a deep forward may generate wider interest.
